This Thanksgiving in the USA I am thankful for the Pioneers that have created and sustain the Innovation Engineering Movement.
These Pioneers have come together from around Planet Earth. They believe that they can and will Change their World.
They are driven by a basic desire to make a difference. They see the transformation of the global economy and get excited. To them change is opportunity – and something to be embraced.
They work at for profits, non-profits, universities, large companies, small companies and government.
They believe in the truth of some simple principles from Dr. W. Edwards Deming, a statistician from Powell Wyoming. They believe in data, doing the math, failing fast and never ending innovation in how they work.
This week I received data that shows that even when the Pioneers are seemingly overwhelmed with negativity, within their “political cultures”, they are fighting on and continue to believe.
This week some acts of unbelievable kindness by Innovation Engineering Black Belts, towards the movement, and towards one another have humbled me.
It is a Dickens of a time. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times, it is the age of wisdom, it is the age of foolishness, it is the season of light, it is the season of darkness.
However, this band of Pioneers, who are the heart and soul of the Innovation Engineering Movement, will make this time the best of times. This I know in my brain, heart and soul.
Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the USA. And thanks to our Pioneers around the world as we enter the holiday season.
